Fire Extinguisher Training
Invest in hands-on training now to instill the confidence your team needs to act decisively when it matters most!

  • Identify the different types of fire extinguishers in your facility.

  • Employees will be knowledgeable of the location of all fire extinguishers and how to access them.

  • Identify precautions to take before using a fire extinguisher.

  • Demonstrate how to extinguish a fire using the PASS technique (pull, aim, squeeze, sweep)

  • Your employees must possess the confidence and competence to use a fire extinguisher effectively.

  • Helps employees assess the situation and decide the best course of action (evacuate and report the fire, or try to put it out with a fire extinguisher) to keep themselves and those around them safe.

Intended Audience: All employees (groups of 15-20)

Length: Approximately 20 minutes per group

The acronym PASS is used to describe these four basic steps:

  1. Pull (Pin) Pull the pin at the top of the extinguisher, breaking the seal.

  2. Aim. Approach the fire standing at a safe distance.

  3. Squeeze. Squeeze the handles together to discharge the extinguishing agent inside. 

  4. Sweep.
